SNAP 2026 Registration Is Open: Should a CAT Aspirant Apply, and How Many Attempts Make Sense?
SNAP 2026 applications opened on 21 August 2026.
For a CAT aspirant, that creates a practical decision now—not in December.
Do you add SNAP to the season, and if yes, how much attention should it receive before CAT?
According to the official SNAP schedule:
Candidates can take up to three SNAP attempts, with the best score used for percentile calculation under the current official process.
The exam is 60 minutes, so its speed requirement is very different from CAT.
Consider SNAP seriously if one or more Symbiosis programs are colleges you would genuinely attend.
Do not register only because everyone else is.
Research:
If none fit your goals, the application may not add value.
CAT gives you a strong base in Quant, verbal ability, reasoning and test discipline.
But SNAP demands a different pace.
A CAT habit such as spending several minutes extracting a difficult problem can become expensive in a 60-minute exam.
After CAT, preparation should shift toward:
More attempts can provide another opportunity, but they also cost money, time and mental energy.
Think about:
“Three attempts allowed” does not mean “three attempts compulsory”.
Keep CAT at the centre if it remains your primary exam.
You do not need to spend September preparing for SNAP as though it is next week.
Instead:
That protects the primary target without losing the application window.
If you already know you will take CAT plus SNAP, XAT, NMAT or other MBA exams, the broader options on the On Your Mocks Test Series are designed for multi-exam mock practice and analysis.
If you want guided exam-specific classes after CAT, the Post-CAT OMET Booster is designed for the switch into SNAP, XAT, NMAT and other OMET formats.
There is no reason to join that booster now if CAT is still your immediate priority.
Register for SNAP because a college outcome makes sense for you.
Not merely because the form is open.
Your MBA entrance strategy should start with the colleges you want, then work backwards to the exams required to reach them.SNAP 2026: the dates that matter
