Guide
A CMAT mock is valuable only when it changes the next test. Do not reduce analysis to “score went up/down.” For this exam, track marks in GA/I&E separately from aptitude and the five-mark swing created by a correct-versus-wrong decision.
Before the mock
Write the strategy on one line: section order/time plan, when you will skip, and what you will do in the final 10 minutes. That gives the analysis something concrete to test. Without a pre-test plan, every outcome can be rationalised afterward.
After the mock: classify every lost mark
Use five buckets: concept/knowledge gap, wrong process, selection error, time-management loss, risky guess. Also tag correct-but-slow questions because they can quietly damage another section. Re-solve wrong and skipped-easy questions before reading the full solution where possible.
Find the highest-return correction
Do not make ten changes. If one hard puzzle consumed eight minutes, set a stop-loss rule. If GA/I&E is weak, add a daily recall block. If NMAT ends with unanswered questions, pacing—not concept depth—is the immediate problem. If SNAP negatives are high, lower risk before raising attempts.
Use a rolling three-mock view
One paper can be unusually easy/hard. Across three mocks, look for repeated patterns: same weak section, same time sink, same negative-mark source, same late-paper collapse. A repeating mistake is a training problem; a one-off bad question is not.
The final mock strategy should become boring: you know what you attempt first, when you leave, how you recover from a bad section, and which numbers you will review afterward. That repeatability is more valuable than collecting a large mock count.
Put this rule into one measurable experiment
In your next CMAT mock, change only one behaviour connected to cmat mock strategy: 100 questions, 180 minutes. Decide the rule before the timer starts, then record its effect on attempts, accuracy, questions unseen and time lost. Five equally weighted sections; Innovation & Entrepreneurship is a differentiator; NTA declares NTA scores/percentiles and does not run college counselling.
If the experiment improves score but creates a new section collapse, it is not yet a usable strategy. Repeat it once on a different paper before locking it. Exam strategy should survive a harder set or unfamiliar question mix; otherwise it is only a lucky mock pattern.

Why On Your Mocks?
A mock score tells you what happened. OYM helps you understand what went wrong and what to work on next.
