Guide
Language Skills in NMAT is not just a syllabus label. It tests RC, para forming, error identification, prepositions, sentence completion, analogies.
What to practise
The section carries 36 / 28 min in the researched pattern. The working approach is: Because timer is fixed and section is adaptive, keep momentum; unanswered/slow questions cost opportunity even without negative marking.
Do not practise this area only in isolation. Start untimed to understand the logic, then move to short timed blocks, then place it inside a full NMAT mock. The full-paper stage matters because a method that works with unlimited time may be unusable when another section is waiting.
A concrete way to think about it
Separate comprehension from direct-language knowledge. For an RC error, locate the exact evidence or scope mismatch; for grammar/vocabulary, build the rule/meaning bank that CAT preparation may not have required.
The traps that cost marks
Treating no-negative as unlimited time; overinvesting in one RC. Turn those into review tags. After a timed set, do not write “silly mistake”; write the actual cause—misread, weak concept, wrong representation, overthinking, guess, or time sink. If one tag repeats three times, it deserves a specific drill.
A better review loop
Re-solve every wrong or slow question without the clock. Then solve a *different* question of the same type under time. That second step tells you whether you learned a transferable method or merely understood the solution you just read. For knowledge-based sections, replace re-solving with active recall: close the notes and retrieve the fact/rule from memory.
Readiness checkpoint
Finish all 36 within 28 min with a repeatable section-order strategy. Once you can do that twice in separate sessions, move more preparation time to full mocks and mixed practice. The aim is not to make this your favourite section; it is to make its score predictable enough that the rest of your NMAT strategy can rely on it.

Why On Your Mocks?
A mock score tells you what happened. OYM helps you understand what went wrong and what to work on next.
