Guide
Use the XAT 2027 answer-key/response process only when it is released through the official XAT portal. Do not build an exact percentile prediction from memory-based solutions before you have the official response/answer information.
What to check
Match each recorded response with the official key, calculate Part-1 net marks using +1/−0.25, and include the additional unattempted penalty after the first eight skips where applicable. Keep GK separate because its marking/selection role differs from the overall percentile calculation.
When an objection is worth filing
Challenge only when you can explain the issue precisely—ambiguous wording, a demonstrably incorrect key or a technical problem—and follow the official evidence/fee/deadline rules. Social-media disagreement is not evidence.
Do not confuse estimated score with final percentile
Even a correctly calculated response-sheet score does not give a guaranteed percentile before the final distribution is known. Use scorecard-based historical analysis as a range and wait for the official result for admission decisions.
After checking the key once, return to the next admission step. Recalculating the same expected percentile every few hours does not improve your shortlist; updating college applications and preparing for interviews does.
Turn the date into a preparation deadline
The current planning fact is: Registration opens 15 July 2026, closes 6 December 2026; admit card is tentatively from 20 December; exam is 3 January 2027, 2–5 PM. Work backwards from the official test/administrative date: keep the last 5–7 days for strategy stabilisation and light revision, the prior two weeks for full mocks and targeted repair, and complete major concept work before that.
Also create a separate `college application` row in your calendar. Exam registration, institute application, score submission and counselling/interview stages are different actions; missing one can make a valid score useless.
The exam-specific reason this matters
Only major Indian MBA exam with a dedicated Decision Making section; no sectional time limits; sections can be switched; on-screen scientific calculator; GK does not drive overall percentile but matters to XLRI final selection. That is why the advice on this page should be tested in the XAT format itself, not inferred from CAT performance. Record the result in one sentence after your next timed attempt: what did you change, how many marks/questions did it affect, and will you repeat it?

Why On Your Mocks?
A mock score tells you what happened. OYM helps you understand what went wrong and what to work on next.
